So, a few weeks ago I requested another speech evaluation for Owen. His last one was last November, but a few weeks ago he got a new speech therapist. So I wanted a new evaluation so we knew where he was going into it.
On the test he takes there are 3 different scores- expressive language, receptive language and the total. 100 on all of them would be perfect- right at age level. It goes down from there. Anything under 80 really makes the ST worry and would be a big concern.
Last November Owen's scores were in the 50's for each of those. Obviously, very concerning (more for the ST's than for me because I had SEEN how much progress he had made up until that point. The 50's was awesome for him!). The test also gives the age level the child is at. I don't have those papers in front of me, but I believe at 4 years 1 month he was scoring in the mid 2 year old level.
So, today I got the results back from his evaluation a couple weeks ago. He AMAZED me! I know he's made huge progress this past year, I didn't realize how much. All 3 of his scores are in the 90's now!!!!!!! That was shocking! I was hoping for the 80's, never would I have guessed they were in the 90's! He's still 6-9 months behind in all 3 scores but... whatever. I'll take that for now!! I can't believe he's made that much progress in less than a year. Wow. So his new ST says that we're basically needing to work on some fine-tuning things and getting him to make the sounds correctly (tongue placement is still off for him). He also has a few receptive skills that are behind, but we're working on it.
Time for a party!
But it's hard to believe he may not be needing ST for that much longer (maybe another year??). I'll be lost... whatever will I do?? I've been taking him to ST 1-3 times a week every single week since he was 17 months old!

Grrr....
This is what I face every single time I try to leave my driveway. There has GOT to be something illegal about this. I can't even get out of my driveway! I have to more or less use a combination of guessing, closing my eyes and praying we don't get hit by a car coming by everytime I leave the house.

Orchard
Here's pictures from the orchard today!
He had a great day today. Almost no meltdowns or anything!!! Just minor things that, well, all 4 year olds do!
Unfortunately when I put him to bed he didn't last long. Poor baby puked all over his bed and himself (and his brand new pillow I had JUST given him 10 minutes before... it was a cute Thomas pillow). He was so sad that he made his new pillow dirty ;( So... I have no idea how the night will go....
Going down a HUGE slide. He loved it! Adults were allowed on it last year but after someone went way too fast and crashed into the fence below and broke both their ankles and legs, they decided no more adults. And they added a hay stack "fence" at the bottom ;)
With his little pumpkin he picked out. He'll get a bigger one closer to Halloween (mainly because he'll get a free one at a festival Jason's work puts on so I'm not paying for one. LOL!).

Not all shopping trips are fun.
Sometimes they can be downright frustrating.
To preface this I'll say that I feel like crap, got a bit of a cold/allergy/whatever thing going on. I had planned on crashing early last night, but Owen was invited to a birthday party today. I hadn't gotten a gift for this boy yet but Owen really wanted to go. So after O was in bed I planned on running out to walmart to pick up a gift.
I had a bunch of coupons for $5 off a hot wheels toy. I planned on using one or two of these to get a gift for the boy.
So I get to walmart and find a cool hot wheels toy. Normally $20. On clearance sale for $11. I had a $5 coupon. Cool. I get a handful of other things and go to check out. The cashier tells me that I can't use a coupon on a clearance item. Uhhh.... no, not true at all. There is absolutely nowhere on the coupon, or in walmarts coupon policy, that says you can't use a coupon on a clearance item. I gave up though, because I felt like crap already and just wanted to go to bed. I told them to keep their toy and I'd go to Meijer instead.
So I get to Meijer and grab some stuff. Here's how the receipt SHOULD have broken down....

My total came out to be $15.xx. I pointed out to the cashier that I think she only rung up one of the hot wheels coupons. I was nice about it, mistakes happen. She insisted I was wrong and had only given her one hot wheels coupon and the total was right. I asked her politely to open her little coupon drawer and check. She did, and there were two hot wheels coupons sitting right there. So then she insisted I had only bought 1 hot wheels toy... except there were two in my bag and on the computer screen. So she got all huffy and scanned that coupon. The total was still high but she was refusing to look over the coupons so I just paid so I could get the receipt. She hands it over and I see what the problem was- she never scanned the durex coupon. I mention it to her and she insists I never gave her the durex coupon. Same deal, I ask her to open the drawer and she initially refuses. Uhhh.... yeah. Not cool. After a few more requests she opens the drawer and the coupon is RIGHT there. She then tries to insist she did scan it and it just rung up under "cm promotion". But I'm not an idiot. The "cm promotion" was the $5 off $25 coupon. The durex coupon was never scanned. At this time she hands me back my receipt and tells me "there's nothing you can do tonight. Come back tomorrow when customer service is open". Not a chance. I'm not wasting my time and gas to drive back out here for YOUR mistake. Not to mention- there would be NO way to prove it tomorrow and I would more than likely be told "tough luck, there's nothing we can do". I'm not doing it. So I ask to speak to a manager and she insists there is no manager in the store and there is nobody who can help me. I call bs (Sam- is it true that managers don't work at 11pm???) and explain to her that there has to be SOMEONE in the store who can help. She finally admits there is and calls over another woman. That woman (manager, I guess?) asks what's the problem. I explain it to her, she looks over my receipt, goes to the cash register and says she's sorry for the mistake and hands me $5. I thank her and ask her to please make sure that cashier gets trained/retrained on coupon use AND customer service because that was insane.
After all the coupons were finally sorted out I paid $5.74 for that order.

And a happier post!
Sunday morning breakfast.... Owen wanted French Toast.
10 slices, to be exact. Not 9, not 11. Must be 10. He's got a thing with the number 10 lately. The picture above he's counting them, making sure there's 10. The picture below he's absolutely thrilled that he got 10 slices of french toast. LOL! He ate 7 of the 10.... growing boy!
And playing at a park.
"Look mom... I can skate!" He was loving it. He took a LOT of spills, but never cried at all. Just jumped back up and tried again.
A sad post....
My poor car ;( I was at work tonight. It was the end of the day, the last couple parents had just picked up their kids. So I get Owen and we're walking out of the building. Another girl I work with asks as I walk out the door "Is that your car?". I look over to where she's pointing.... dang, yup, that's my car. One of the parents (he has 2 kids at our daycare and 2 more who used to go but are in school now) backed into my car with his van. Waaaahhhh. I called the police and waited around for 2 HOURS before someone showed up! Thankfully Jason came right over after I called him and he played with Owen on the playground for a little bit and then, a few minutes before the police showed up, he took Owen to McDonalds to grab some dinner (and a couple waters for the other parents kids). Just as Jason got back with their waters the police showed up. He made a report and all that jazz. Obviously the other guys insurance will pay to have it fixed but.... that stinks. My poor car. But, on the bright side, nobody was hurt. It's just a car. It would have been far worse if a kid had been walking behind him.

1.29lb grapes ($1.79/pound! ARGH!! Meijer has them on sale for $.99 but the last couple times I've tried to buy them they have a really strong chemical smell. I'll pay more to avoid feeding my child chemicals, thank you very much)
2.66lb bananas ($.53'lb)
1 bag of Gala apples ($2.99)
1 dozen eggs ($1.59)
Total before coupons- $13.94
Total after coupons- $.85!!!!
How, you ask? The Glade warmers play a big part. They cost $1.89 each. I had $1 off coupons I used, making them $.89 each. Kroger is running a special where if you buy a warmer you get a $2 off your order coupon. Yeah, figure that one out... you get paid to take these warmers. So each of the warmers paid me $1.11 to take them out of the store. I had some of those coupons from another day (anyone want any Glade Plug-In warmers? I've got plenty! LOL!), so I used those too. I had a coupon for free eggs so I used that.

While we were there we were sitting at the table and he was reading the paper they had on there. He read that they have birthday parties and his face just lit up. He exclaimed "Mama.... I wonder if *I* could have a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese???". He was so excited!
So we're breaking down and having a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. It will be *very* small (Owen, *C* (Jason's brothers stepson), and *J* (the boy from school that Owen is friends with) will be the only kids invited). So small they won't even rent us any of the party space. LOL! That's fine though. We're going to have it early enough in the day where they won't be busy (they open at 9am. I'm thinking we'll have it at 10:30).
Now everybody cross your fingers that it goes well and no major meltdowns happen!

Owen and school
Owen's had an aide at school since he started (3 hour preschool every day). They've just been extending it for 1-3 weeks at a time "to observe him in order to make a permanent decision". Basically seeing if he really needs an aide. Today was the last day of his 3 week extension. I talked to the principal a couple days ago who said she wasn't sure if the aide was going to be extended, but she was hoping it would. Today I got there I ran into her and asked. She said yes, they got it extended. I asked for how many weeks this time and her response.... "All year, I believe"!!!!! YAY!!!! 
I am so stinking pleased that they did this! Such a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! Now I'm hoping they find someone who stays all year. He's had an aide for 2-3 days at a time and then they just stop showing up (I swear my kid isn't that bad 
). The aide he's had for most of this week has been wonderful. I told the principal I put in a vote for her to be a permanent one

Bees or spiders
Does everyone remember a little over a year ago when Owen had that severe allergic reaction to something, he ended up in the ER but we never did figure out what he's allergic to? So, this has been on my mind a lot in the last year, especially since I've been told over and over again by various doctors that allergic reactions can get more severe everytime a person is exposed to that thing. Great, we don't know what the heck he's supposed to be avoiding! So, over the last year I've pretty much decided it's definately not a food. He eats the same exact foods he did that day and has never had a reaction to anything. So, foods are out. It has to be something he's not been exposed to in the past year, since he's not had another reaction. A couple days ago I was sitting in the car thinking about it and it hit me.... what about bees or spiders? If Owen had gotten stung/bitten he never would have told me or complained about it (since he doesn't feel pain like you or I do). It would make sense. When it happened we were driving to Michigan from Kentucky. When we left Kentucky he was fine. When we stopped in Ohio to eat dinner and change into his pj's he was fine. When we got to Michigan his face was fine, but I never took off his pj's so I have no idea if he had any hives on his body or not. By morning he was COVERED in hives and his face was swelling. If something had bit/stung him during the night, I never would have known. By morning he was in the middle of a severe allergic reaction.
So, that's my best guess. The reason it's so important is now that he's in school he needs an "emergency kit", since he has had an allergic reaction to something. So he's got a kit at school with his benedryl and an epi-pen jr, but it would be sooo much easier for his teacher if we knew what he was allergic to!
We are considering going back to the allergist and getting more testing done, focusing on bees/spiders and other environmental things. I hate to see him get pricked again (the testing is not fun at all), but if it helps save his life, by knowing what he's allergic to, it'll be worth it.

Meijer trip
Yes, I have an addiction. But at least it saves us money instead of the opposite! LOL! I never even wrote about last weeks Meijer trip.... but it was a good one. Toilet bowl cleaner for $.04 each.... and that was just part of the goodness....
Anyway, today's meijer trip...
1 Hot wheels toy (splurge for Owen for Christmas/birthday)- $8.99 (not on sale.... oops!) had a $5 coupon
1 TGIF frozen snack- $3.43 minus $3 coupon
1 Dawn Direct Foam soap (I don't use this, Jason's mom does so this was for her to thank her for the $5 off $25 coupon she gave me)- normally $3.89, on sale for $2.79, had a $1.50 coupon
2 Ghirradeli (sp?) brownie mixes, normally $2.38 each, on sale for $1.67, had a $1.50 off 2 coupon plus Meijer had a deal where if you buy 2 you get a coupon for $1 off your next purchase. So after all coupons are taken into consideration it was $.84 for 2 brownie mixes
2 Dole Salad kits (the new ones... the Southwest one ROCKS... our favorite one so far), normally $3.99 each (insanely expensive), on sale B1G1, used a $.50 coupon that doubled to $1 and a $.75 coupon (making 2 salad kits $2.24)
1 Tyson frozen fajita kit (includes chicken, veggies and tortilla shells), normally $6.29, on sale for $4.50, had a $3 coupon.
And my splurge.... 1 bacon on sale for $2.50... but no coupon.
I also had a coupon for $5 off any purchase of $25 or more (which is why I got the hot wheels, to bump me up to $25)
Total before sale/coupons- $39.24
Total after discounts and coupons- $9.20
Plus it printed off the $1 off coupon (for the brownie deal) and ANOTHER $5 off $25 coupon. WOO!!! A couple months back I kept getting these- everytime I used one, I got another. It seems to be working again!!

Another Kroger trip
This one was short, since I didn't plan it. We just decided to run to a different, newer kroger last night to waste time (Owen wanted walmart but it was closed for a loooong time since the power was out there. We just went tonight and they have almost nothing in the fridge/freezer sections since everything went bad). Anyway, it was a spur of the moment trip so I'm pretty pleased with my deals!
-Crest Tarter Control with Whitening toothpaste (2 of them). Normally $2.72, on sale for $1, had a $.50 off coupon that doubled to $1 making them free.
-Lysol Neutra Air kit (we have these at work... next to all the changing tables and bathrooms... they work great!). Normally $11.99, on sale for $5.99, had a $5 off coupon so it cost $.99.
-Pert Plus Shampoo plus conditioner- (can't remember normal price) on sale for $1.99, had a $2 off coupon making it free (I have 2 or 3 more coupons but have to go to a different kroger since that one was out)
-Triamenic refills for O's vapor fan (he's been ill for weeks, this thing works GREAT at helping him sleep all night). They changed the name of the company that makes them so they're on close out at Kroger for $3.83 (normally closer to $6). I had a bunch of $3 off coupons so I've been buying them at every Kroger I can find them at. It makes it $.83 for a box of refills. I got 2 yesterday.
-Eggo waffles, not that great of a deal but O needed them- 2 boxes for $2.34 and $2.33, I had a $1 off 2 coupon.

Owen- "Alright mama, time to go to Walmart!"
Me- "Why? What do we need?"

Ahhhh... gotta love it. We compromised with a promise to go to walmart tomorrow.... after the new coupons and sales come out ;)
Speaking of which... had an awesome walmart trip earlier this week. I must have thrown out my receipt though so I'll try to remember everything....

1 Febreeze Noticables- $5.97, had a $5 off coupon (and this thing smells YUMMY! It's 2 different smells and it switches back and forth. I got the fall one and it's made our downstairs smell awesome without the risk of candles with Owen)
2 Glade Plug-Ins Scented Oils- $3.50 each, had a $4 off one coupon (that was adjusted to $3.50 off) and a B1G1 coupon so both were free
2 Huggies CleanTeam flushable wipes- $1.64 each, had a $3 off 2 coupon making it 2/$.28. MOM- Does Alexis and/or Noah still use the flushable wipes? Soccer
Today was Owen's first soccer game! He was sooo excited (practice started on Monday, games are on Saturdays). We put him in the 4/5 year old soccer this year, instead of the 3 year old. He did great at the beginning. He ran right out to the field and started warming up with the team.
He is so proud of it!!! (Or, he was until he destroyed it. LOL!). How awesome is that?!? I took a picture so we can show it to his OT next week.
As far as the soccer goes.... Owen loves the idea of playing soccer. He gets so excited when it's a "soccer day". But then he just.... doesn't get it. I think we are going to finish up this season (through October) as much as he wants to do. We will encourage him to participate, but we never force him to. After this season I think we're going to focus on finding other things for him to try. He's been begging to to try football (Lord help me now... LOL!). At the place Jason plays indoor soccer, they also do little kids football. But he needs to be 5 to start, so I think next fall he can do it. We're going to get him back into swimming lessons, because he loves doing that. With that he has a hard time paying attention to the swim teacher so she had one of us sit on the edge with him the whole time. But he's advanced enough (swim wise, not maturity) where he can go to the next level if we want him to.
Argh. It's frustrating. It's just one of those days where it hit me hard that he's not like the other kids and our life is so much different than "typical" 4 year olds lives.

But then they started the game and they don't let all the kids on the field at the same time. Only 5 at a time, which means some of the kids had to sit out for the first half. This rule SUCKED because Owen had to sit out the first half. He completely lost interest because of it. There was a box on the sidelines that had held the shirts (which you can see in the second picture). He kept crawling in it and just laying in there. The coach kept taking him out and he'd go right back in. Finally one of the refs got tired of it and moved the box.... only to have Owen run to where the box was and jump right back in. Oops! This is one of the coaches trying to keep Owen away from the box.
By the time the second half came around and Owen was allowed in the game, he was in meltdown mode and didn't want to play anymore. He was so overstimulated he was just asking to go home :( Which, we obviously let him. It wasn't his fault he didn't get the chance to play until he was so overstimulated there was no chance he could even do it.
Of course, then I also had the pleasure of dealing with the other parents. For those who have never done this soccer thing with kids... some of these parents are NUTS and really competitive. So when they saw Owen crawling in the box... you can imagine what some of the comments were. There was one woman and her older daughter (maybe a preteen) who saw Owen and started commenting about how we needed to get him out of here because he obviously wasn't "a born soccer player" and that he "isn't any help to the team". WTH?!? They had no idea they were making these comments while sitting right next to his mom. Boy were they ashamed when they found out ;) Seriously. This is little kid soccer. They're supposed to be having fun. This is NOT a competitive thing at this age. It's kids running around and having fun. So what if my kid was having his fun by hiding in a box?
There was a mom and grandma there who were pretty supportive, but their son/grandson (the really small one, number 5) is in Owen's daycare class so they know Owen and I.
As for good news though.... Owen's having mega issues with drawing/writing/coloring. Lots of issues popping up to where we can't even get a fine motor skill eval done on him because he refuses to do most of the stuff. Or he starts, gets frustrated and destroys it. But on the way home from soccer he did this....

I keep waiting for the day....
When I drop Owen off at school and a short time later get a call from the school asking about what Owen's saying. He's got some of the most hilarious echolalia.... but sometimes it can be taken the wrong way!
On one of his veggietales movies the kids are talking about heroes. One little boy says "My dad's a hero because he catched me when I was falling down the stairs". Apparently Owen heard it wrong because he's been saying "My dad's a hero because he CHASED me when I was falling down the stairs". Oops! No, buddy, nobody chased you when you were falling down the stairs! LOL! But, sure enough, he goes to school saying it. I'll have to think of some of the other ones he says....

It worked!
I have the menu for lunches at Owen's school and once a week they serve french fries. Now, anybody who knows Owen knows he's obsessed with fries. He would eat them every meal of every day of every week if he could. So I think it was the second or third day of school they had fries, and Owen went NUTS because he didn't have any (I didn't have the menu at that time so had no clue). The teacher gave him some and he completely ignored the nice, healthy lunch I packed him because she just kept giving him fries. Grrrr.
So, I found a solution. On fry days I bake some oven fries for Owen. MUCH healthier than the fried version, but he still loves them. As an added bonus he's started eating them when I cut them, put a little EVOO, garlic powder and parmasean cheese on them before I bake them! Woo... the cheese is a tiny bit of added nutrition. LOL! I wish I had taken a picture of his lunch, but I was in a hurry. He had a little container (that ovalish shaped one in the other picture) with oven fries in it, along with a little container of ketchup. He LOVED it. It was the first thing I heard about when I picked him up from school! Of course, he barely ate any of his other lunch but at least the oven fries weren't as horribly unhealthy as the school fries (and he did eat most of his lunch on the way from school to daycare so... it evens out).
We're trying mac-n-cheese in his lunch today... hopefully he eats at least some of it!

Ideas
So, this was supposed to go in an email to Ally, Sam and Mom.... but my email keeps messing up tonight and is really frustrating me.
Anyway, I know Ally asked a couple weeks ago for gift ideas for Owen... and I don't think I ever responded. Sorry!
Owen obviously still loves Thomas and everything having to do with Thomas. But check with me before any Thomas purchases because we have a huge collection of trains and dvd's so it might be tricky to find one he doesn't have. He's going through a funky clothing period so as much as he thinks he would like Thomas clothes, it's probably not a good idea. Thomas pj's would rock (size 5T or big boy size 4/5) since he loves all pj's.
He loves books and is working on those Step 2 books. He pretty much reads everything he can get his hands on these days.
Clothes are a hard thing... he wears a size 5T or big boy size 4/5. He loves plain white shirts so give him a box with a bunch of plain white shirts and he'll be a happy man. LOL! He won't wear jeans/khakis, only sweat pants and jogging pants. He will wear pretty much any pj's.
He's also starting to get into Playmobil. These are actually really fun looking too so Jason and I are excited. Finally... something other than trains! LOL! He's been big into castles lately (a bookstore we go to has one that the kids can play with... he loves it!) so we're thinking about getting him the castle (the take along one) for Christmas. Any of the accessories to that would be great (I will say though that we are a weapon/violence free house. Which means that all the pieces that come with a weapon will promptly have the weapon taken away.... which is fine with me because he can play with the little people all he wants to.... without any weapons ;) That's actually one reason why we chose Playmobil... all the weapons are removable). There's also lots of other cool sets. I've seen the circus and the dino ones at Toys R Us but I've not seen any of the other ones in person yet. Any of the Playmobil ones would be cool though. (I do ask that if anyone does get him Playmobil stuff they let me know so we don't get it too!)
I think we are getting him the Advent Calendar and/or the Nativity Manger. Both look pretty cool. He has a Little People Nativity Manger but I think he's outgrowing that one, sadly.

Updates on life
Mostly Owen related, of course ;)
School is going well for him. He's done mostly well. We had a day last week where it was a complete melt down. He melted down for about an hour before school started (because I was making his muffins but he didn't get to help until half way through- he was watching a movie- so he was pissed that he couldn't help "from the beginning"). Anyway, he melted down for about an hour before school. I had to carry him to the car screaming, he sobbed all the way to school, I had to carry him into the building still sobbing. Once there he tried to escape as soon as his feet hit the ground. His aide was by the door to stop him. His teacher distracted him with the computer so he calmed down and I left. However, he had a rough day at school that day. They were definately more challenged by him. At one point he was in the middle of the classroom and took of all his clothes. ALL of them. And refused to get dressed. (secretly I laugh at this because it *is* kinda funny) They ended up putting him in the bathroom that's in the classroom. They didn't lock him in there or anything, but they did tell him that he couldn't come out until he was ready to get dressed. He apparently stayed in there for quite awhile. I don't know how long, I didn't ask. The teacher went in at one point and tried to get him dressed... no go. She left and a little while later the assistant teacher went in. She tried.... no go. She then told him the other kids had to go potty so he needed to get dressed and get out of the bathroom. That logic worked on him and he said "okay" and got dressed without any further arguements. LOL! Oh boy.
He did make a friend though! I came to pick him up one day last week and he was standing next to a little boy, *J*. *J* rides the bus home so was standing in line (bus riders are in the line, car riders are at the tables/floor). Usually when I come, Owen's in the reading corner alone (never any shoes on, sometimes no shirt either). But that day I came in and he was ready to go, backpack, shoes, everything, standing next to *J*. They saw me come in and they both just started yelling that Owen was going to ride the bus to *J*'s house. LOL! Uhhh... no. Good try boys ;) They were both too cute though. They apparently had it all planned out. They just forgot to tell their mom's. But, the teacher says Owen and this boy have been playing together very nicely for the last couple school days. YAY! This is Owen's first friend :)
Shoes are still a big issue. He'll almost always wear the shoes while outside (the ones he wore on the first day of school.... the only shoes he'll wear). But as soon as he gets in the house/car/school/daycare/whatever he takes them off. So he's been doing this at school and his teachers have been letting him. However, I don't want him to get in the habit of running around the school barefoot (the GERMS.... ARGH!!! lol). Come winter it'll get too cold for that. So, this weekend I bought him a pair of Croc lookalikes. They're lined with furry stuff. They are now "slippers", specifically for school. He has a choice at school to wear his shoes or his "slippers". But his slippers are only for classroom use, when it's time to go outside he needs to switch to his shoes. It worked for today, his teacher said he wore the slippers during classroom time and switched to shoes for outside play. Cool beans.

It's much more structured than the 3 year old soccer (they have practice for 1 hour every Monday night and a game every Saturday). We were really worried he wasn't really going to get it and wasn't going to do what they wanted him to. And, well, that's exactly what happened. Jason picks Owen up from daycare at about 5 to take him to practice at 5:30 (I get out of work at 6). So I went there after work and what do I see? A bunch of little kids running around the field kicking the ball somewhat in an organized manner. And one little boy with his mesh jersey (ya know, the ones they give half the kids to make them a certain color?) covering his face while he's spinning around in circles and running around everywhere except where they wanted him to be. Yup... that's my boy. LOL! But he had fun while doing it and, honestly, that's all we want (well, secretly I think Jason wants him to be a future soccer player but....). Jason said he did kick the ball around a little bit at the beginning. Lunches
One unexpected thing to come from Owen being in school is he's actually eating MORE! More variety and more volume. I'm SHOCKED! He's had issues where he won't eat in an unfamiliar place. He *still* won't eat lunches at daycare, even though he's been going there since November. He will eat snack there though. So this was a major concern when he started school. It's also one reason why we are packing his lunch everyday, as opposed to him eating school lunches (though on fry days he suckers his teacher into giving him some! LOL!).
Anyway, one "rule" of his feeding therapy is he can't eat the same foods 2 days in a row or, if he does, it needs to change shape/color/etc. Something needs to be different. So I've been playing around with different shaped sandwiches (he'll only eat pb&j sandwiches). Sometimes he eats them, sometimes he doesn't.
But I've been having fun making his lunches so I thought I would start sharing them here, just for fun. Here's todays....
Top container has watermelon. There's 2 zucchini muffins (he decided he does, in fact, like zucchini muffins or, as they're also called, "green banana muffins".... lol!). There's 2 because he's on this kick where he has to have 2 muffins in his lunch everyday. Bottom container is a train pb&j sandwich, train shaped cheese, baby carrots, pirate's cannon balls and a hershey's kiss (he gets one in every lunch).

Anyway, one "rule" of his feeding therapy is he can't eat the same foods 2 days in a row or, if he does, it needs to change shape/color/etc. Something needs to be different. So I've been playing around with different shaped sandwiches (he'll only eat pb&j sandwiches). Sometimes he eats them, sometimes he doesn't.
But I've been having fun making his lunches so I thought I would start sharing them here, just for fun. Here's todays....
