"Hurry up and take the picture so I can take this shirt off already!" He wore it for about 30 seconds for a photo op, then it was back to his white shirt.
"Much better. Can we go now?"
"Enough with the pictures... Let's GO!"

"Alright already.... you can go now mom!"
No issues with me leaving him there at all :)
The food issue went great. We were worried he wouldn't eat his lunch, since he has a LOT of issues with eating around new people and in new places. But he ate almost the entire lunch I packed for him! YAY! One hurdle down.
I've been in meetings with people from the school all week trying to make this a safe place for Owen (the runner). For now I installed a temporary alarm on the back door in the classroom (that leads to the outside). For today they pushed a table against the door to the hallway. I got a call tonight from the principal saying he was approved for an aide until the next meeting, so starting tomorrow he'll have an aide and won't need to move the table in front of the door. Next Friday we have an ARC meeting, so we'll see what happens then.
All in all, it went great! He has a body sox there (the teacher put it in his cubby so he can use it at any time) and that helped. It also helped that his teacher is a SAINT! She seriously is the most patient person I've met in a loooong time. She's an older woman and has been doing this (teaching preschool aged special needs kids) for a long time so she knows what she's doing.

Congratulations on your first day Owen!! (um, and congratulations on surviving the first day your baby was away at school Steph! :) )
And I'm laughing my butt off at the blue shirt--is that the one Jason's mom bought? Did she happen to buy Jason's shirt too, or do they both like blue striped polo shirts? LOL! Too bad Owen didn't wear it, because that would have seriously looked cute in that picture with Jason holding his hand.
LOL. Yeah, that's the one Jason's mom bought. I wouldn't doubt if she bought the one Jason was wearing too. Jason and his mom both like blue stripped polos.... if you look through Jason and Owen's closets you'll see many. They also have matching pink polos.... and it drives Jason's mom crazy when they wear them because she HATES pink on a boy. LOL!
Awww I LOVE his smile in those two pictures. That has to be the biggest smile I've seen on that boys face! He looks so excited!! I'm glad it went well.

PS... In case you didn't realize Allison, Steph is also wearing a striped polo. It is pink instead of blue, but a striped polo it is. They are just a cute little striped polo family!! lol
LOL Sam. I hadn't noticed that. Yup.... we like polos ;) I don't think I own a blue striped one though. I'd better not say that too loud or I know what Jason's mom will get me for Christmas.... lol!
