I need a hair cut. My hair is getting too long and I need something totally different (right now it's just slightly past my shoulders but I pull it up 95% of the time). So.... should I get a haircut like this....

i vote the first one.
It depends on how often you can go get your hair cut. I'd say to go bold, but it looks like that cut would require a lot of trims to keep it from looking shaggy. #1 looks like less work.
I don't know which one would be best for you, but I had to chime in since I have that second look, almost exactly, same color and short, and I love it! My hubby loves it, too. ;) It's very fun.
