This post is for you, Sam :)
I've been trying to jump back on the money saving wagon after our vacation. I actually did pretty well this week. I signed up for www.grocerygame.com (4 week trial for $1. In my area it includes lists for CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kroger and Meijer). The verdict is still out on whether it's worth it to me (once the 4 week trial is up the cost goes up to $10 for 8 weeks for 1 store. Each additional store is $5 for 8 weeks). For this last week I did what I always do (get the papers and make my list of things I will buy- I do Kroger and Meijer) and then on Monday night (when the grocerygame list comes out) I compared my list to their list to see if I missed anything. This last week I only missed one thing that would have been a $.45 mistake. We'll see how I do this week. If it continues like this I won't be continuing after my trial offer. The bonus of continuing is that they do the work for you. But, honestly, I find it kinda fun to try and find the best deals :)
Since I was so happy with my deals this last week I'll post about it. Here's what I bought at Kroger...

how do you get the coupons doubled??? At Meijer, you had a coupon for .50 off, and they gave it to you for $1.00 off?!?!!? how does that work?
Sorry about O with the spaghetti, thats got to be rough for you both. And yay for him not being seriously hurt while trying to fly....lol hopefully he doesn't make that a habit.
At Meijer and Kroger (around here, you'll have to double check at your Meijer) they double any coupon that's up to $.50. So you scan in the coupon and it automatically doubles the amount off. So if I scan in a $.25 coupon it will usually take off the $.25 and then it'll list a "bonus coupon" for another $.25. Each store does it automatically, even at the self check outs, so I do nothing special :) I really take advantage of the double coupons in addition to sales. You really *can* get things free/close to free!! And it's all completely legal ;)
