Now I'll *really* cry....

Dad, Sam, her fiance and Holly are coming down here this weekend. Jason and I have been working hard getting the place cleaned up and looking nice. We took last night to relax. He went out golfing with 2 friends and then they all came back here and, after Owen went to bed, we sat out on the patio talking and watching the lightening show (lots of lightening, but at that time there was no rain). After awhile the rain started coming down so we packed up and went inside. Not even 10 minutes later Jason hears glass shattering. Our patio table blew over and broke!

No, correction, it shattered into a billion pieces. I don't have a clue how I'll get all that glass out of the grass. Owen walks in the grass barefoot all the time, playing on the slip and slide and such. How in the world am I going to get it all cleaned up so he doesn't get cut? The picture doesn't even do it justice. There's glass all the way to that back fence.

We were planning on grilling out this weekend. But.... uhhh.... now we have no table! I cleaned some of it, but I'm stuck on how to get the stuff in the grass. I have no clue. I tried raking it but that didn't work. Sweeping it doesn't work either.

Crap.

Oh man! What a bummer! You might try a shop vac to suck up the glass.

I was going to say the same thing...get a shop vac and get it. :)

That stinks...but at least you were inside first. That was close!

Thanks! I did end up using a shop vac. I took HOURS to do it all. What a PITA. I had to get down on my hands and knees and sift through the grass because tons of the tiny shards had gotten down under the grass. But, it's clean now.
