This is right next to my car, after I got it cleared off.

This is how thick the ice was on my car.

Tire/driveway picture

Side of the house (actually not too bad because it was protected from one side)

Down the street one way. The intersection right there is HORRIBLE. The entire time I was out clearing my car there was not one single car that either went right through the intersection or couldn't get going again once they stopped.

And down the other direction.

I'll be willing to bet school is closed tomorrow too. My boss said they might close work tomorrow too, if it continues this mess. So, fortunately, Owen and I get to stay home where it's nice and warm. Jason had to go to work today but only for a couple hours. He should be back shortly.

Yikes, that stinks! Did you lose electricity or anything?
Nope, not yet (knocking on wood!). Jason says that usually if we lose electricity it comes back on fairly quickly. No week long outages like in Michigan! LOL! So far the only times we've lost power since I've been here it's only been out a couple hours, at most.
It's still nasty and freezing rain right now so we'll see what the night holds. Most things that were open today are closing early, in anticipation of more ice. Most schools are already announcing closures for tomorrow (Owen's school has not yet), along with a lot of daycares/businesses.
I lied. Owen's school just announced they were closed tomorrow :) He'll be thrilled.... he was off Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.... hopefully they'll be open on Thursday! LOL!
Wowser! Be careful if you do venture out!
dang I just looked at your pics again, that is some THICK ice! And thanks for fulfilling my request for pictures!
Hope your power stays on, they just said on NBC news tonight that a lot of people are out. Jim Cantori from the weather channel was just talking, he's in Paducah, said a whole lot of people lost power.... good thing you live in a big town!
