And my child is not typical

One of the people on his eval team called me yesterday to say that part of the evals were done (the autism eval was done) and the results show he's not a typical child. Well...... duh. Again, he's not severe enough to be diagnosed with "classic autism", which we all agree with. They did give him the diagnosis "autism spectrum disorder", which we expected. So.... woo! At least we all agree on *that*. She did say also that it doesn't matter if they diagnose him with classic autism, ASD or PDD-NOS- the same services will be available to him since in this school district it all falls under the "autism" category.

Oh, what a relief that must be for you! Early intervention can make such a difference and to finally have the school's support for it will be great. I wish you and your family the best, lots of strength to deal with the tantrums and quirks, and time to enjoy the good days and the good quirks ;-) I look forward to more reports and stories. I've been following your post for a while, after I came across it while researching ADHD/ASD. We we are currently going through school district eval with my son as well and I am anxiously awaiting next week's big meeting where we find out any diagnosis and recommendations for the future.
