We came home and he did eat the cheeseburger. Kinda. He got 3 fries, bite of burger, 3 fries, repeat over and over again.
However, when he finally got a bite of the actual burger it promptly came right back out.
Here's when he was done eating the burger...
And a picture showing exactly how smart the boy is. He took "bites" to get the fries, managing to miss the actual burger everytime (except that one time). Cute. He did get a couple bites with cheese though and liked that.
I'm impressed. It is a new food (kinda- he does eat all sorts of bread). But for him to even consider eating a cheeseburger is awesome! And for him to eat the bun that was touching the burger.... awesome! It was definately a good first step :)

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA, how on earth did he miss it every time? (He could have just taken the bun off, silly boy!)
Next time get him a burger that's square on a round bun so he can't miss it. ;-)
It looks to me like he was really working hard to avoid getting anything on his cheeks. Would he have eaten it in triangles, starting with the pointy end, do you think?
Either way, the was clever of him to avoid the burger. And awesome for him to try something new!
LOL. He missed it on purpose ;) I think he knows it's good to try new foods. That idea is in his head. The seed is planted. He WANTED to try a new food. But he just couldn't bring himself to do it. So he went as close as he could (by eating the bun) without actually eating the burger. I say it was pretty smart of him! Maybe after a couple more exposures he'll actually chew a tiny bite of meat.
I don't think it was him avoiding getting it on his cheek as much as it was him taking small bites to avoid getting any unwanted meat. He takes HUGE bites of foods he loves (and smears it on his face at times) along with overstuffing his mouth at times.
Thanks for stopping in :)
woah! sneaky little boy!!! but hey, at least he tried.
